Little Debbie reaching out to Social Media fans

Little Debbie launched a new campaign called “Share-A-Thon Tour”, including a one million cupcake giveaway. While they’re using traditional advertising, they’re also reaching out to the Social Media world through Facebook, enticing people to become fans of their facebook page to enter into the one million cupcake giveaway.

It looks like they’ve got the ownership of their facebook fan page, and launched it just before this campaign, creating posts teasing the campaign, offering coupons to fans, posting youtube videos of their commercials, and promoting their Twitter feed (which itself has almost 3000 followers). The biggest point is that they’re actively posting in both Facebook and Twitter, not just squatting.
